On-Bit GunDRILL Reamer
PDC cutting structure on the leading and trailing segments of the tool enhance drilling operations in many ways. While drilling ahead, these cutters help to smooth out any ledges or doglegs to efficiently improve wellbore quality while drilling. The cutters on the leading edge also serve to reduce under-gauge drilling in hard rock applications. During backreaming operations, the cutters on the trailing portion of the tool ensure the wellbore is reamed back to bit diameter even in hard and abrasive conditions.
Flat TCIs on a longer crown – just slightly under bit diameter – enhance vibration damping and further ensure that wellbore tortuosity and ledging is minimized.
Blade offset improves TFA locally to allow a smooth flow path from bit junk slots to GDR junk slots.
