Michael Leman joined Rubicon as General Counsel in 2016, and is dedicated to building a cost-effective and business friendly legal department to support Rubicon’s rapid growth while upholding a high level of integrity.
He is a native Houstonian and third generation oilfield services executive. After being around the industry his whole life and graduating Rice University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Michael began his own oilfield career as a R&D engineer designing downhole tools at Weatherford International. Michael later began his legal career as a patent agent while attending the University of Houston Law Center to obtain his J.D. While in private practice, Michael primarily worked with oilfield clients across the full spectrum of intellectual property matters. He joined Tesco Corporation in 2011, where he transitioned to general practice and was promoted to Deputy General Counsel overseeing Eastern Hemisphere operations, IP management, and global supply chain.
Michael is married with two children, and enjoys travelling and spending time with his family in various outdoor activities.
